What is Didi’s Wardrobe?
Didi’s Wardrobe is an online Indian clothing store where you can sell your new and gently used South Asian (Indian, Pakistani, etc.) ethnic apparel, Indian costume jewelry and accessories and purchase new or like-new items for men, women and children of all ages.

Why should I sell on Didi’s Wardrobe?
We are the only online community dedicated to bringing together individual buyers and sellers of new and pre-owned South Asian wear and accessories.  You won’t be competing with corporate sellers on our site and, unlike Ebay, you won’t be inundated with useless items that don’t match the criteria of what you’re searching for.

Why should I buy from Didi’s Wardrobe?
Again, we are the only online community dedicated to bringing together individual buyers and sellers of new and pre-owned South Asian wear and accessories.  Many of us love to wear new styles to each of the major events in our lives, but it’s not a luxury we can all afford.  Didi’s Wardrobe allows you to buy new or like-new items at a fraction of the retail cost.  Do you have any saris or lehengas in your closet that still have the tags on them?  Or that you only wore once or twice before you grew tired of wearing it?  So did we!  That’s why we created Didi’s Wardrobe and hope you will be able to benefit from using our site!

Can I use Didi’s Wardrobe if I live outside of the United States?
Yes, if you are looking to sell your items, you can ship your items to us and we will post them on our site. Sorry, we currently do not allow for international buying. We are working hard to keep Didi’s Wardrobe running smoothly in the U.S. and hope to expand to other countries in the near future.

Do I have to create an account?
Yes, the first step, whether you are a buyer or seller, is to create a Didi’s Wardrobe account.  Just click on the New Registration link and creating your new account should take less than a minute to complete.  Membership to Didi’s Wardrobe is 100% free and allows you to buy and sell an unlimited number of items on our site.

What should I do if I receive an offer to complete my transaction outside of Didi’s Wardrobe?
Offers to buy and sell outside of Didi’s Wardrobe are a potential fraud risk for buyers and sellers and are not protected by Didi’s Wardrobe.  Our Terms & Conditions prohibit members from using Didi’s Wardrobe to contact each other to make offers to buy or sell items outside of our website.  Also, members can’t use information obtained from Didi’s Wardrobe to contact each other about buying or selling outside of Didi’s Wardrobe.  If you receive an offer to buy or sell outside of Didi’s Wardrobe, please report it immediately to support@didiswardrobe.com.  Failure to follow these guidelines may subject you to a range of actions, including limits on your buying and selling privileges and suspension of your account.

BUYING

How do I buy an item?
Browse through our categories located across the top of our home page or enter a search term in our “Search” box in order to view items for sale.  Once you find something you like, read the item’s description carefully and check the sizing and condition rating.  If you have any questions about the item, you can ask the seller a question by clicking on the “Question for Seller” button. Once you are ready, add the item to your Shopping Cart and checkout securely and easily using Paypal.

Who pays for shipping?
The buyer pays for shipping charges, which will be included in your total during checkout.  Buyers will have the option of express (approximately 2-3 days) and/or ground (approximately 3-7 days) delivery options.

How do I return my item if I am not satisfied?

Items can be returned if contacted within 24 hours of delivery. Please email us within 24 hours at info@didiswardrobe.com. It is a strict 24 hour policy even if the item has been delivered over the weekend or after-hours. Please contact us immediately if you would like to return an item and have it shipped back to us within 48 hours. Shipping address will be provided after you email us about the items you plan to return. Please note that any items that appear to have been used or worn will not be refunded.

Will I receive the full purchase price if I return an item?
You will receive the purchase price minus shipping costs.  You will also be responsible for shipping the item back to the seller.

How long will it take to receive my item?
 We typically ship items within two business days.  You will choose with mode of transit you prefer, which will determine delivery time. Centrally located in Chicago your Indian dresses with arrive quickly

What if I never receive an item I purchased?
All of our items are insured by the postal servive. Please feel free to contact us first and we will further assist with recovery options.

SELLING

What type of things can I sell on Didi’s Wardrobe?
South Asian clothing (saris, lehengas, salwar kameez, kurta pajamas, sherwanis, Indo Western tops, jodhpuris, kids Indian clothing, etc.) for any age or gender and accessories (including Indian jewelry, shawls, handbags and other accessories).

What type of condition should my items be in?
We suggest new and like new items.  However, we include a rating scale of your items that could include damaged items that could either be repaired or dry cleaned by the buyer.  See our Condition Rating System for additional information.

Do I have to dry clean my items before selling?
We do not require sellers to dry clean items – however, it can increase your chances of selling an item if it is clean and there are no stains or other blemishes.

How much does it cost to post an item for sale?
Posting items on our website is completely free.  We will only charge a service fee if your item sells.

How many pieces can I send?
As many as you would like to sell.  The best part is that it is completely free to post items on Didi’s Wardrobe.  The more items you post, the better chances of selling, so go ahead and start gathering all of those items you no longer need or use.

How do I price my item?
We don’t have any specific pricing guidelines, but keep in mind that if the item you’re selling has been used or worn, it will likely sell at a price that is heavily discounted from your original purchase price.  Your price should be based on a number of factors including original cost of the item, designer, age, style and condition.  We recommend that you start with a price somewhere between 30-70% off of what you originally paid for the item, but remember that we can change the price of an item.  Suggested pricing guidelines can be found in Optimize your Listing.

Who pays for shipping?
The buyer will pay for shipping, which will include tracking services to ensure proper delivery of the item.

How do I get my posting under What’s New?
There are two ways for your items to be included under the What’s New category.  If you have a new item, we will post the item under What’s New – Recently Added for 30 days from posting.  Additionally, we will post your item under What’s New – Recent Price Reduction for 30 days if you decide to decrease your price for an existing item by at least 10%.  We will also include a “Price Reduced” banner on your posting for 30 days.

How do I get paid when my item sells?
Your share of the item price will be transferred into your PayPal account on the 1st of every month for the previous month's sales.

WE POST FOR YOU

I have a bunch of items to sell, but no time…now what?
We have just the solution for you – it’s called “We Post for You”.  Fill out our simple inventory form, sign our Consignment Contract and ship your items, along with this paperwork, to us.  Then be rest assured that we will take care of all the rest!  We will post your items for you, and when they sell, we will ship the items to the buyer and remit payment to you via Paypal.

Does Didi’s Wardrobe charge a service fee for “We Post for You” items?
There is no fee to list the item. We do charge a service fee of 50% on each sold item. Again, we only receive our fees if your item sells!  Didi’s Wardrobe will take high quality photos of your items and prepare all of the information that goes into a listing, with your input on pricing and other relevant information that you think will help the item sell.  We also automatically post each “We Post for You” item under our “What’s New” category in order to highlight those items for a quicker sale.

Click on We Post for You and provide us with contact details, quick inventory list and then ship these documents along with your items to Didi’s Wardrobe at the address found on the top of the form using a trusted shipping service with delivery confirmation.  Then, just sit back and relax while we do all the work from there!
